Gucci: The new midas touch?

If I was to ask you 2 years ago what brand you thought was exciting, had lustworthy pieces and had a strong, fresh vision in its collections, would you have shouted out Gucci? The previous creative director Frida Giannini was glorious in her executive role ( yay girl power!) bringing back the nostalgic floral print, reinventing pieces in the archive for a modern audience, but this soon carried on from season to season and soon became the case that a focus on pushing the brand to a new creative space was vital. Who would be up for the task of essentially revamping the brand, whilst simultaneously maintaining the essence of what makes Gucci Gucci? Alessandro Michele.

Alessandro has truly regenerated the brand with his fresh vision of a young eclectic muse who is at home at studio 54, and has a taste more akin to 70's heirloom chic. Arguably therein lies the genius, Alessandro has created a collection that, in its entirety, advances forward a singular vision of the new Gucci girl. This in turn, makes each collection cohesive in terms of vision, but each piece can also be effortlessly incorporated into the wardrobes of women of different ages and styles.

I'm personally excited to see where Alessandro takes the brand next in his upcoming collections and ad campaigns. What is your take on the newly revamped Gucci?
