#New old Hollywood: Dior A/W 2016 collection

This week Dior debuted their A/W 2016 collection at Paris fashion week, and my oh my was it a covetable collection. The make-up, hair styling and accessories all played to the image of a classic hollywood noir siren, imbued with an edge via a black lip colour and statement earrings.

Whilst watching the show my eye was immediately drawn to the the bags the models were carrying, and there appeared to be a debut of a new style akin to the lady dior; consisting of a longer rectangular shape and optional short handle in exotic textures and vibrant colours. In keeping with the current mirror lens trend, the sunglasses worn by the models, only furthered the modern and contemporary spirit of the collection.

The classic silhouettes of the pieces were further enhanced by the fabrics and techniques used. The colour palette mostly consisted of the classic fall colours of navy, black and camel, with accents of colour via oranges, reds and the masterful use of prints. The shoes were arguably more subdued and acted as a base for the looks rather than being one of the focal points of the outfits presented. All were in a pointed lace up style, presented in a myriad of materials.

What were your favourite looks from the fall collection?
